SOUTHERN SPAIN: WATCH WATERBIRDS SING IN THE GUADALQUIVIR WETLANDS
Home to over 300 bird species, including the Spanish Imperial Eagle, the Doñana National Park puts on a dazzling display of waterbird diversity across its marshes, lagoons, mobile sand dunes, and dense forests. Soaring above the Straits of Gibraltar, thousands of European and African migrating birds seek shelter along this idyllic stretch of the Cadíz coastline and banks of the Guadalquivir River.
On this 5-day birding journey, learn how to spot, identify, and call local birds in one of Europe’s largest surviving wetlands with expert wildlife-watchers, on foot, 4x4 safari, and horse-drawn carriage. Stay in a family-run cortijo (farmhouse) which borders the nature reserve, waking to birdsong as dawn breaks.
